Continuing the ReSET legacy
By making a contribution to ReSET, you as a corporation, organization, or individual have the power to help secure the futures of potential scientists, inventors, researchers, technicians and engineers. Your support allows us to provide materials for classroom experiments, transportation for field trips, and helps pay the many administrative, recruitment, and training costs associated with operating a non-profit organization and preparing volunteers for the classroom.
Our Current Funders:
Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA)
Founded in 1946, AFCEA’s roots trace back to the American Civil War. Today, AFCEA serves as a bridge between government requirements and industry capabilities, representing the top government, industry, and military professionals in the fields of information technology, communications, and intelligence. AFCEA, a non-profit international association, is dedicated to supporting global security by providing an ethical environment that encourages a close cooperative relationship among civil government agencies, the military and industry.
Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation
The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation is the largest independent grantmaking foundation focused exclusively on the Washington Metropolitan area. The Foundation is the legacy of Morris Cafritz, one of Washington's leading commercial and residential real estate builders from the early 1920's to the mid-1960s. An outstanding civic leader known for his generosity, he established the Foundation in 1948. His wife, Gwendolyn, one of Washington's leading hostesses in the post World War II years, was President of the Foundation from 1964 to 1988. Since 1970, awards totaling more than $261million have been granted. In the last 10 years, 3,124 grants have been made, totaling over $136 million. Community Services and Education projects lead the list, followed by Arts and Humanities and Healthcare.
Children’s Fund of Metropolitan DC
The Children’s Fund of Metropolitan DC funds programs that have a direct and positive impact on the lives of at-risk children and youth, and is dedicated to funding programs that give children the opportunity to discover their uniqueness as individuals so that they can enjoy a full life as adults. The Children’s fund fulfills its mission by considering all programs that seek to improve the quality of life for at-risk children. Such programs address the following issues: early childhood development, education, the arts, and such after-school programs that provide children with enriching activities, instill a desire for active learning and provide recreational activities.
Commonweal Foundation
The Commonweal Foundation supports educational programs and projects assisting disadvantaged youth. The Foundation focuses on secondary and, to a lesser extent, elementary education. The Foundation also considers grants for educational research and, to a limited extent, health care.
Bella S. and Benjamin Garb Foundation
Lockheed Martin Corporation
Lockheed Martin provides products and services that address some of the nation’s most critical needs. Its outreach initiatives, volunteer efforts and philanthropic contributions are making a difference in diverse communities in many ways. In education, Lockheed Martin motivates students through programs such as the Lockheed Martin Space Day Education Initiative, MATHCOUNTS®, National Engineers Week and K-12 mentoring. In neighborhoods, employees volunteer with local programs such as food drives, homeless shelters, recycling projects, and fund-raising events for medical research. And in support of customer and constituent interests, the company is involved with initiatives ranging from space education to a care-package program for U.S. soldiers abroad.
William C. McGowan Charitable Fund
The McGowan Charitable Fund was established to realize—and to enlarge—the magnificent potentials which Mr. McGowan foresaw in the future of the young, as well as the rewarding promises of medical research and the critical need to enhance the role of American business by providing scholastic assistance to promising students. Based in Chicago, IL, the McGowan Fund operates through an involved board of directors whose members are familiar with the vision of Mr. McGowan and who are strategically situated geographically. While this confines the Fund's giving to those specific areas, it permits the organization to have a personal level of involvement in the programs it selects to support. Through this local and regional individual awareness, the fund recognizes undertakings of unique promise, innovation, and special needs.
Optical Society of America
The Optical Society of America’s Foundation (OSAF) is a proud supporter of ReSET. The OSA Foundation sponsors philanthropic activities that promote the generation, application, archiving and worldwide distribution of knowledge in optics and photonics. OSAF hosts a variety of programs that serve to:
- Advance youth science education
- Support optics and photonics education in developing countries
- Provide education and resources to underserved populations
Webber Family Foundation
The Webber Family Foundation funds educational programs throughout the community, focused in Austin and the central Texas region, and Washington DC and its surrounding Maryland/Virginia area. Established by Neil Webber in August of 1999, the Foundation focuses on programs that provide individuals with the knowledge, skills, and training they need to reach their full potential. The Foundation interprets "education" broadly, with areas of interest that include adult literacy programs, technology and science education, basic financial literacy, music and arts training, athletics, library services, and special needs students. The Foundation made approximately $900,000 of grants in FY 2005 and has distributed approximately $5M since inception.
